PSP ROMS – Get The Low Down On PSP ROMS

A PSP ROM is basically a copy of a game that can be downloaded from the Internet to your computer and then transferred to the memory stick to be played on your PSP. To play these games you must have the correct firmware, it usually means downgrading your PSP. You should be looking for firmware version 1.5, but don’t worry I have found a place that not only has literally hundreds of ROMS for you to download but also all the information on downgrading your firmware. It even has step by step guides to help you all the way.

By the way if you want to find out what firmware version your PSP is running just turn on the PSP, go to settings> system settings>system information click X and you will get a message “system software version” 1.0 1.5 1.51 or 1.52.

As you know Sony decided to release games for it PSP using UMD or Universal Media Disc, which can store up to 1.8GB of various media types including, games, music and video. Sony has no intention of releasing UMD readers/writers to the general public. So in theory UMD’s are non re-writable.

There are also a lot of PSP games by unlicensed developers and game demos freely available on the Internet but you must be careful where you down from.

You will be surprised installing PSP ROMS is actually a lot easy than you might think. A lot of the time is a simple process of drag and drop. As long as you put everything in the correct folder you will be OK.

First of plug your PSP in to your computer using your USB cable. Turn on your PSP and find your way to Settings > USB connection and press X. You will find that your computer will automatically finds the PSP. Go to my computer > removable disc (usually drive F:). You will now be browsing the contents of your memory stick. You will see a folder called PSP open this up and create a folder called GAME. Remember you will need to create a new folder for each ROM you use.

Now about the site I have found that has literally hundreds of PSP ROMS. They have all the latest games. Not just demos but the full games. They also have PSP Themes, Backgrounds, Movies and Music.

They also have all your favorite emulators to download direct from there site.

How To Fix The “Not Enough Memory Error” For PSP

I’ve noticed this question gets asked at least once or twice a week on the popular PSP help forums so I decided to post a tutorial on how to fix the “not enough memory error” for your PSP. There also seems to be a lot of confusion as to the difference between your memory card and your PSP unit’s memory.

Oddly enough this error has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the memory card that you have in your PSP. Memory in this instance refers to the amount of RAM, or Random Access Memory, the PSP has. Each PSP has 4 Megabytes (MB) of fast DRAM, used for video or game resources, and 32 MB of embedded RAM, for system resources.

Unlike a computer RAM is something you cannot change or upgrade for the PSP. If you get this error you are left with these two options. If you have a lot of tabs open try closing the ones your aren’t using. The PSP may not be capable of loading what you want because it lacks the resources. Restart your system and try to run the desired file as soon as your PSP starts up.

Again, this has nothing to do with the size of your memory stick. Memory sticks run out of storage space, not memory. The term memory should never be used when referring to your memory stick’s storage capacity. The two share nothing in common. This statement is also true for other devices, such as your PC. Your computer’s hard drive is not memory, but rather a storage device.

How to Connect Your Playstation Portable to Your Playstation 3

Connecting your Playstation Portable (PSP) to your Playstation 3 (PS3) will allow you to play your PS3 games running on your console in your home from your PSP outside your home, using your PS3s’ wireless remote connection feature. In this article I will explain the benefits of establishing this connection.

In the resource box at the bottom of this article you will find a link to a video explaining how a PS3 and a PSP can be connected. The operation should go pretty smooth if you follow the guidelines in the tutorial video. You will find a video link at the end of this page.

Being separated from your new PS3 for a longer period of time can be hard. Imagine how hard it will be when new games like the new Grand Theft Auto get released. Connecting your PSP to your Playstation 3 will allow you to play your PS3 games even when you are outside your home.

You can play your Playstation 3 games from your office when you have a couple of minutes available, at your grandmothers’ birthday party, at the train or on the subway. With the wireless connection in your PS3 combined with the pretty high quality screen on your PSP this is not a bad option at all.

In addition to playing games from your PSP you are also able to watch movies from the Blue-ray/ DVD player on your PS3. Even though it is very possible to install videos on a PSP it is also a benefit to be able to watch DVD’s on it. I bet you have more DVD’s than you have PSP movies. At least I have.

If you have music installed on your Playstation 3 these are also available to play using your PSP if you have built a connection between the two. This is a handsome feature that can come in handy in a lot of situations.

Still I believe the most powerful feature of building a PSP-PS3 connection is the ability to play games. The quality is more than good enough and the ability to play my PS3 games from my sunny garden chair with a lemon ice tea is nothing to complain about.

If you want to know how to connect your PSP to your PS3 to avoid problems on the way I have posted a video about it on my website. Follow this link to watch it

PSP Features

Holding a brand new PSP in the palm of your hands is one thing but realising the potential of the Sony PSP is another. What you have in your hands is a games console, an MP3 player, a movie player, an Internet browser, a photo viewer plus a lot lot more. This article looks to highlight some of the best features of the Sony PSP and shows you how best to use those features.

The PSP arrived at the end of last year with the kind of buzz surrounding its launch that I hadn’t seen since the launch of the playstation 2. This psp buzz was matched by the eagerness of everybody who wanted the psp and it seemed like an eternity before Sony manufactured enough stock to match the demand for the psp. It soon became apparent that the PSP was a whole lot more than just another games console.

PSP Wallpapers
To make the most of your PSP wallpaper you need to upgrade to version 2 of the firmware. This can be done online and detailed instructions are available in your psp manual. A wonderful feature of the psp is the ability to have an image of your choosing as your psp wallpaper. I chose a slightly blurred image of my son in close up as my psp wallpaper. I was amazed at how good this looked, while the psp wallpaper was slightly blurred it highlighted the text above it and made it clearly readable.

Of course you can choose whatever image you like as your psp wallpaper but the process of setting your psp background wallpaper is to firstly enable the psp wallpaper function under themes. You then go to your photo folder on your psp and choose the image you like and set it as your wallpaper.

PSP Hacks
There are a whole host of new psp hacks being found every day but one of the best psp hacks by far is how to run a multiplayer game when there is only one UMD game disk between all of you. It is so simple and by far the best psp hack I have come across.

Start the game on the first psp in ad hoc multiplayer mode and make sure you have unlimited time as well.

On the first psp, eject the UMD game disk and when the message asks if you want to quit answer with no.

Put the UMD disk in the next psp and start a multiplayer ad hoc game as in step 1.

Repeat the process with all players and enjoy!

I love this psp hack a lot.

PSP Downloads
This is a great feature of the psp, the ability to download utilities, software, games, music, movies onto your psp. PSP download sites are appearing everywhere, some are better than others but the ability to do a psp download is an awesome feature.

PSP Games
Of course the primary function of the psp is games. PSP games come in all genres and the catalogues of psp games is expanding every week. One of the best games for the psp so far is without a doubt FIFA 2006, it is a great game but as always it is a matter of preference. There are PSP games for everyone.

This demonstrates just a few of the amazing things the Sony PSP has given us so far. It is still very early days for this awesome product but as new psp games are developed and psp hacks are unearthed along with some amazing downloads for the psp, the future looks very bright for the Sony psp.

The Answer To 2.8 Downgrade PSP

This year the PSP has been booming and is probably one of the most sought after and popular items. Almost every gamer on the planet wants one, not surprisingly, since the PSP is probably the best portable gaming station today, especially for its impressive graphics, sound and almost unlimited possibilities.

But your PSP can also be a headache. If you upgraded your PSP or have recently bought one, your firmware version will surely give compatibility problems. I bet many of your games and movies are not playing right or maybe not even playing at all! Didn’t you buy your PSP to enjoy games and movies after all?

Fact is, high firmware versions equals compatibility trouble for most PSP users. Certainly, after purchasing a device that costs a couple hundred dollars, this is not the way things should work! Compatibility problems will make you want to throw your PSP device away or simply forget about it. Following a 2.8 Downgrade PSP guide or video tutorial, you will be able to 2.8 downgrade PSP devices back to their original state, and your headache will be gone for once and for all!

Certainly, upgrading is not the best thing one can do with a PSP. One thinks it will be an upgrade, but it really is not. Many games will not work again, and you will get tired of trying and looking for information.

After following simple instructions for 2.8 Downgrade PSP, any PSP can be brought back to it’s original state and saved from landing in the garbage can! It can also be re-upgraded and downgraded as many times as you wish in less than 10 minutes.

PSP Versus The Nintendo DS

Let me begin by saying that both the PSP and DS are excellent hand held games. I have experienced both and both have qualities that make them and excellent hand held game. However, depending on what you are looking for, one game might be better suited than the other.

The Nintendo DS is a great game with a huge selection of titles. The unique aspect of the Nintendo DS is the touch screen. This allows you to actually touch the screen and select game menus or use the pen provided to interact with some games. This is a great feature for kids. It has a section on the game system, which allows my kids to actually draw and write with the pen and it appears on the screen. Next, the games are really good. The game graphics are also just as good as the PSP. However, if you are looking for a hand held game with really good sports games, the DS is not the game of choice. For some reason the regular sports game titles seem to play differently than on the PSP. The DS seems to be geared more for little kids and not so much for the older gamers. Some of the best games for the DS are the Mario games. The most played game on the DS in my household is Mario Cart. This game never loses its playability, no matter what system it is on.

The Sony PSP is a really cool hand held game, which is suited much more for the older gamers. The PSP has comparable graphics and game play, except for sports games. PSP has really excelled when it come to the sports genre. The graphics are much better and it seems like a more advanced version than what is available for DS. Game play seems to be much better on the PSP, when playing a sports game. I personally enjoy sports games the most, so I prefer the PSP. One of the best features of the PSP is the ability to download PSP games to the PSP. This can be done through a reliable internet download website. A good site can be hard to find so be careful.

To find a reliable place to download PSP game go to http://www.download-free-psp-games.com. This site will give you a list of the top three sites online.

Choosing between PSP and DS can be dependent upon what you are looking for as a gamer.

Copy – Backup UMD PSP Games Software

When you look around the place most kids own a portable gaming device like the Sony PSP (Playstation Portable). Since its introduction the PSP has totally revolutionized the gaming industry with amazing game play and breathtaking graphics that you thought would only be found on the bigger console machines like the Xbox or PS2.

Due to the relatively small size of the games most are prone to damage either through scratching or dirt entering inside the protective cover that comes with every PSP game. That’s why its important to backup your PSP games to preserve your originals and save money replacing them. There are lots of free tools and tech sites on the internet that can show you how to copy psp games but if your not familiar with the geek talk backing up PSP games can be a tedious and sometimes frustrating procedure.

Fortunately there are easy to use software tools and guides available out there that make this possible! All you need is a PSP SD memory card (2 gig preferred), a PC and your own PSP handheld device. The software programs come with guides that show you how to dump PSP games on onto your computer then transfer them onto your PSP memory stick. Depending on the size of the memory stick you can run multiple games of one stick and not have to use the disc at all.

You can have all your PSP game collection running off your PSP memory stick instead of the discs. This has several advantages but mostly games will run a lot faster (off the memory card) and your originals will not get damaged and you can safely store them away.

You can find lots of videos on youtube or forums dedicated to PSP gaming that can show you how to transfer games to PSP memory card – all you have to do is Google search them and you’ll get the information you need.

Play Downloaded PSP Games

PSP games and movies are selling like hotcakes and have taken the technology world by storm which continues even today. Their huge popularity can be attributed to one thing: the PSP or Playstation Portable, is one of the most adaptable and versatile consoles in the world. The little UMD discs can be carried around in your pocket, allowing portability for gaming and watching full-length movies on the go. However, the portability is taken up another level when you consider that you don’t even need to carry these discs around, as you can store multiple games and movies on your PSP memory stick.

What you will need to play downloaded psp games:

The most important thing you will need to play downloaded PSP games, is a decent size PSP memory stick. I recommend going with nothing smaller than a 1GB PSP Memory Stick. The larger the better because you’ll obviously be able to fit more games and movies. Please note that when you buy a brand new psp memory stick, you will need to format it before you use it. To play PSP movies and games, it will be much easier if your firmware version is 1.5 or lower. The later firmware versions are a little bit more difficult to get going. You could think about downgrading your firmware if you have a later version but be careful because TA-082 PSP’s should never be downgraded, as this will result in a bricked psp and you will not be able to use it!

Getting started, you will need to find legal psp downloads on the Internet. Once they are downloaded, you will transfer them to your PSP using a USB cable. Your PC will generally recognize your PSP as an external drive, sometimes F drive. All you need to do is drag and drop the files onto your psp. So, do the following:

Copy your PSP games to the right path on your PSP. This should be PSP>GAME (all the folder names should be in caps). After all the files are transferred to your psp memory, you can disconnect the USB cable. Now in the main menu on your PSP, go down to GAME and then choose the Memory Stick option. Press the X button, and all the downloaded games on your memory stick will show up. If there are any errors, you might want to check your firmware version, or see if the downloaded file is corrupt.

That’s it! Now you should be able to play downloaded PSP games!

Follow these instructions to be able to play downloaded psp games. If you have any problems with this process, you may be doing something wrong. To find out more, or to see where you can get thousands of PSP games and movies to download, go to my Squidoo page: Play Downloaded PSP Games which can be found at Squidoo.Com/Play-Downloaded-PSP-Games
