Is it really possible to play PS1 games on the PSP? Of course it is. There are tons of software that will allow you to play PS1 games on your PSP, and I am going to give the secret away! You are going to find out how to get them downloaded, and how to copy them over using your USB cable. There are a few things that you are going to need in order to put PS1 games on the PSP. The first thing that I recommend, if you don’t have already, is to buy the biggest memory stick for your PSP that you can afford. The more space you have the more games, movies, music, etc that you are going to be able to have at any given time. You will also need all of the software that is needed. I will explain everything as I go through the steps below. The software includes a place to download the ROM’s (games), and software that will copy the games to the correct directory on your memory stick. The only other thing that you will need is the USB cable for your PSP. You will need to connect it to your [...]

The potential of PSP is truly limitless; its gaming strength is not only powered by the great titles released for the console but it can also play games designed for other consoles like SEGA or GB by using emulators. Now, another gaming experience is added to the list. With a little reconfiguration, you can play PS1 games on your PSP. How to do it? Well, here’s a short guide to unleash your PSPs gaming power: Requirements: * Sony PSP with battery charged at least 75%.(Recommended: Full charge) * Memory Stick Duo (Recommended: 1GB and above) The first step to running your custom made Playstation games on your PSP involves getting the 3.02 OE-B (stands for Open Edition). Starting with firmware 1.50 The first step is to have a PSP that is running on the 1.5 version of the PSP firmware. You can check for this by going into the System “System Settings” on your PSP, then System Information. Important note: There is a version of the PSP’s motherboard known as TA-082, which, will not work under this situation. Do not attempt to continue with the installation if you have this motherboard. For more information, see The PSP-TA082 guide. If you [...]

Downgrade your PSP easily and safely. If you wish to downgrade your PSP, this may be very possible. There are only a few versions right now that you cannot downgrade. If you currently own a PSP that is over version 3.03 then, unfortunately, you cannot downgrade (at the time of writing). The good news is that if you own a PSP under 3.03, you can downgrade to 1.50. Now what’s so good about 1.50? Well, for one, it lets us play games, known as homebrew. These homebrew games are made by programmers for the PSP and are readily available to download to your PSP legally. In addition to being able to play homebrew games, we can also download emulators which let us play a range of “old school” games from other consoles like Nintendo Game Boy, Sega Master system, Atari, and even one for the Nintendo 64 (plus a stack more). Aside from the thousands of games w can play with a downgraded PSP, you can also download homebrew applications, these applications let you do a wide variety of things with your PSP such as turn your PSP into a Universal Remote Control, Wi-fi Sniffer (lets you find wireless networks [...]

A PSP ROM is basically a copy of a game that can be downloaded from the Internet to your computer and then transferred to the memory stick to be played on your PSP. To play these games you must have the correct firmware, it usually means downgrading your PSP. You should be looking for firmware version 1.5, but don’t worry I have found a place that not only has literally hundreds of ROMS for you to download but also all the information on downgrading your firmware. It even has step by step guides to help you all the way. By the way if you want to find out what firmware version your PSP is running just turn on the PSP, go to settings> system settings>system information click X and you will get a message “system software version” 1.0 1.5 1.51 or 1.52. As you know Sony decided to release games for it PSP using UMD or Universal Media Disc, which can store up to 1.8GB of various media types including, games, music and video. Sony has no intention of releasing UMD readers/writers to the general public. So in theory UMD’s are non re-writable. There are also a lot of PSP [...]

I’ve noticed this question gets asked at least once or twice a week on the popular PSP help forums so I decided to post a tutorial on how to fix the “not enough memory error” for your PSP. There also seems to be a lot of confusion as to the difference between your memory card and your PSP unit’s memory. Oddly enough this error has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the memory card that you have in your PSP. Memory in this instance refers to the amount of RAM, or Random Access Memory, the PSP has. Each PSP has 4 Megabytes (MB) of fast DRAM, used for video or game resources, and 32 MB of embedded RAM, for system resources. Unlike a computer RAM is something you cannot change or upgrade for the PSP. If you get this error you are left with these two options. If you have a lot of tabs open try closing the ones your aren’t using. The PSP may not be capable of loading what you want because it lacks the resources. Restart your system and try to run the desired file as soon as your PSP starts up. Again, this has [...]

Connecting your Playstation Portable (PSP) to your Playstation 3 (PS3) will allow you to play your PS3 games running on your console in your home from your PSP outside your home, using your PS3s’ wireless remote connection feature. In this article I will explain the benefits of establishing this connection. In the resource box at the bottom of this article you will find a link to a video explaining how a PS3 and a PSP can be connected. The operation should go pretty smooth if you follow the guidelines in the tutorial video. You will find a video link at the end of this page. What you have in your hands is a games console, an MP3 player, a movie player, an Internet browser, a photo viewer plus a lot lot more. This article looks to highlight some of the best features of the Sony PSP and shows you how best to use those features. The PSP arrived at the end of last year with the kind of buzz surrounding its launch that I hadn’t seen since the launch of the playstation 2. This psp buzz was matched by the eagerness of everybody who wanted the psp and it seemed like an eternity before Sony manufactured enough stock to match the demand for the psp. It soon became apparent that the PSP was a whole lot more than just another games console. PSP Wallpapers To make the most of your PSP wallpaper you need to upgrade to version 2 of the firmware.
