PSP Versus The Nintendo DS

Let me begin by saying that both the PSP and DS are excellent hand held games. I have experienced both and both have qualities that make them and excellent hand held game. However, depending on what you are looking for, one game might be better suited than the other.

The Nintendo DS is a great game with a huge selection of titles. The unique aspect of the Nintendo DS is the touch screen. This allows you to actually touch the screen and select game menus or use the pen provided to interact with some games. This is a great feature for kids. It has a section on the game system, which allows my kids to actually draw and write with the pen and it appears on the screen. Next, the games are really good. The game graphics are also just as good as the PSP. However, if you are looking for a hand held game with really good sports games, the DS is not the game of choice. For some reason the regular sports game titles seem to play differently than on the PSP. The DS seems to be geared more for little kids and not so much for the older gamers. Some of the best games for the DS are the Mario games. The most played game on the DS in my household is Mario Cart. This game never loses its playability, no matter what system it is on.

The Sony PSP is a really cool hand held game, which is suited much more for the older gamers. The PSP has comparable graphics and game play, except for sports games. PSP has really excelled when it come to the sports genre. The graphics are much better and it seems like a more advanced version than what is available for DS. Game play seems to be much better on the PSP, when playing a sports game. I personally enjoy sports games the most, so I prefer the PSP. One of the best features of the PSP is the ability to download PSP games to the PSP. This can be done through a reliable internet download website. A good site can be hard to find so be careful.

To find a reliable place to download PSP game go to http://www.download-free-psp-games.com. This site will give you a list of the top three sites online.

Choosing between PSP and DS can be dependent upon what you are looking for as a gamer.

Copy - Backup UMD PSP Games Software

When you look around the place most kids own a portable gaming device like the Sony PSP (Playstation Portable). Since its introduction the PSP has totally revolutionized the gaming industry with amazing game play and breathtaking graphics that you thought would only be found on the bigger console machines like the Xbox or PS2.

Due to the relatively small size of the games most are prone to damage either through scratching or dirt entering inside the protective cover that comes with every PSP game. That’s why its important to backup your PSP games to preserve your originals and save money replacing them. There are lots of free tools and tech sites on the internet that can show you how to copy psp games but if your not familiar with the geek talk backing up PSP games can be a tedious and sometimes frustrating procedure.

Fortunately there are easy to use software tools and guides available out there that make this possible! All you need is a PSP SD memory card (2 gig preferred), a PC and your own PSP handheld device. The software programs come with guides that show you how to dump PSP games on onto your computer then transfer them onto your PSP memory stick. Depending on the size of the memory stick you can run multiple games of one stick and not have to use the disc at all.

You can have all your PSP game collection running off your PSP memory stick instead of the discs. This has several advantages but mostly games will run a lot faster (off the memory card) and your originals will not get damaged and you can safely store them away.

You can find lots of videos on youtube or forums dedicated to PSP gaming that can show you how to transfer games to PSP memory card - all you have to do is Google search them and you’ll get the information you need.

Play Downloaded PSP Games

PSP games and movies are selling like hotcakes and have taken the technology world by storm which continues even today. Their huge popularity can be attributed to one thing: the PSP or Playstation Portable, is one of the most adaptable and versatile consoles in the world. The little UMD discs can be carried around in your pocket, allowing portability for gaming and watching full-length movies on the go. However, the portability is taken up another level when you consider that you don’t even need to carry these discs around, as you can store multiple games and movies on your PSP memory stick.

What you will need to play downloaded psp games:

The most important thing you will need to play downloaded PSP games, is a decent size PSP memory stick. I recommend going with nothing smaller than a 1GB PSP Memory Stick. The larger the better because you’ll obviously be able to fit more games and movies. Please note that when you buy a brand new psp memory stick, you will need to format it before you use it. To play PSP movies and games, it will be much easier if your firmware version is 1.5 or lower. The later firmware versions are a little bit more difficult to get going. You could think about downgrading your firmware if you have a later version but be careful because TA-082 PSP’s should never be downgraded, as this will result in a bricked psp and you will not be able to use it!

Getting started, you will need to find legal psp downloads on the Internet. Once they are downloaded, you will transfer them to your PSP using a USB cable. Your PC will generally recognize your PSP as an external drive, sometimes F drive. All you need to do is drag and drop the files onto your psp. So, do the following:

Copy your PSP games to the right path on your PSP. This should be PSP>GAME (all the folder names should be in caps). After all the files are transferred to your psp memory, you can disconnect the USB cable. Now in the main menu on your PSP, go down to GAME and then choose the Memory Stick option. Press the X button, and all the downloaded games on your memory stick will show up. If there are any errors, you might want to check your firmware version, or see if the downloaded file is corrupt.

That’s it! Now you should be able to play downloaded PSP games!

Follow these instructions to be able to play downloaded psp games. If you have any problems with this process, you may be doing something wrong. Three Fact Guide On How To Download Homebrew PSP Software

The PSP is one of the best portable gaming consoles out there. Not only can it play PSP games, music and movies; it also can be made to play games of other consoles too!

So how is this even possible? Well, to take advantage of this unique aspect of the PSP, you need to get you hands on a piece of special ‘homebrew’ software. Often these homebrew software downloads are referred to as ‘PSP emulators’.

As soon as you download homebrew psp software, you can really widen the scope of games you can play. However, please take care to note that although downloading and installing an emulator isn’t (technically) illegal, downloading certain ‘free’ console games so that you can use them on your PSP emulator may be.

So here are three quick facts on how to download homebrew PSP software:

Fact One

All a PSP Homebrew (emulator) does is it makes your PSP games console work as though it were a different games console. For example, if you own Nintendo gameboy game, and you downloaded a Nintendo emulator onto your PSP, your PSP would now be able to play your Nintendo Gameboy games with ease!

Fact Two

Finding PSP emulators is very easy. A basic web search into the term ‘PSP emulator’ will provide you with a great many websites and forums that offer PSP emulator downloads.

However, your best option is to start by searching for emulators on large official PSP downloading websites. They offer you the opportunity to download emulators for your PSP (as well as downloading a wide range of legal games, music and TV shows).

Fact Three

Make sure PSP emulators can run on your PSP’s current firmware. Currently, only PSP’s that have firmware versions 1.0 and 1.5 allow emulators to run on them.

You can quickly check your PSP’s firmware version simply by scrolling left on the PSP’s main screen and selecting the options in the following order: SETTINGS > SYSTEMS SETTINGS > SYSTEM INFORMATION > SYSTEM SOFTWARE. The SYSTEM SOFTWARE option should show you your PSP’s firmware version number.

PSP Beginners Guide: Find And Download PSP Emulator Software

The PSP is the latest in portable gaming technology, and everyone who owns one gets great value in being able to download and play all manner of games, movies and music on their PSP.

However an even better feature of the PSP, is that you can actually use it not only to play PSP games, but to also load and play all of your other console games (for example Nintendo Gameboy games).

To take advantage of this unique feature, you first need to download a piece of software onto your PSP, called an emulator (or sometimes referred to as a ‘homebrew’).

An emulator is simply piece of software that causes your PSP to act as though it were an alternate games console, such as a Super Nintendo or a Sega Genesis.

Once you have loaded an emulator onto your PSP, the emulator will allow you to play other gaming conole games on your PSP. However, please note that although downloading and installing an emulator isn’t illegal, downloading games to use on your emulator may be.

SO HOW CAN YOU GO ABOUT FINDING AN EMULATOR FOR YOUR PSP GAMES CONSOLE?

Well, first of all, before you can begin to search for and download an emulator for your PSP, you need to check what firmware version your PSP games console has.

This is because, the only PSP firmware versions that you can download a game onto are versions 1.0 and 1.50, as currently the firmware versions 1.51 and above, won’t allow you to run an emulator.

You can check the firmware version on your PSP console, simply by scrolling left on the PSP’s main screen and selecting the options in the following order: SETTINGS > SYSTEMS SETTINGS > SYSTEM INFORMATION > SYSTEM SOFTWARE. The SYSTEM SOFTWARE option should show you your PSP’s firmware version number.

Now that you have checked that you have the right firmware version, you can now go about looking for an emulator.

The best option for PSP games console owners, is to start by searching for large official PSP downloading websites. They offer you the opportunity to download emulators for your PSP (as well as downloading a wide range of legal games, music and TV shows).

You can also try doing a search for your required PSP emulator (for example, typing in Nintendo PSP Emulator into a search engine). Although be warned, that the software you download from small unofficial websites may do more harm to your PSP games console, than good.

PSP Update - It Always Pays To Update Your PSP, Or Does It?

The PSP is an amazing piece of kit, you get great games you play on the move. but are you still carrying around your games on UMD disc’s.

Well there is an alternative way to play your games and that is to store them on your memory stick and what that allows you to do is download games to your computer and transfer them straight on to the memory stick.

Ok so where do you start, well first of you need a decent sized memory stick, I would always go for at leastý 1GB but if your strapped for cash a 258MB will do.

Now the next thing you need to look at is the Firmware version of your PSP it needs to be 1.5 or less to play games this way. but there is no need to panic because you can always downgrade your PSP to this Firmware (and by the way it does no harm to your PSP, it just stops the money grabbing game makers from charging you a fortune for games).

So with your Firmware set and a memory card in your PSP all you need to do is download games to your computer (Mac or PC). plug in your PSP to your computer using the mini USB socket and drag and drop games across.

If you are worried about downgrading you PSP there are some helpful tutorials and even the software to download 1000’s of games. Just do a google search for ‘how to downgrade PSP’ and you will soon be able to download games, music, themes, backgrounds and even TV shows.

Right so step by step hers what to do.

Step 1

Copy your PSP game file to the correct path, if you don’t do this the games simply will not work. The correct path is PSP>GAME ( all folder names are in capitals)

Step 2

When the PSP games are transfered to your memory stick disconnect the PSP from your computer, then on the PSP in the main menu scroll to GAME and then select memory stick option. Press X and the list of games on the memory stick will be displayed. If you do have any errors I would recheck your Firmware (do not worry its easy to do).

How You Can Find And Download PSP Emulator Software

Anyone and everyone who owns a PSP games console is getting fantastic value for their money. The PSP games console is not only the latest in gaming technology, but it can also play music, movies and TV shows.

However one of the best features of the PSP is that you can use it not only to play PSP games, but you can also load and play other console games on it (for example Nintendo Gameboy games), provided that you download PSP emulator software.

Let me explain. A PSP emulator is a relatively simple piece of software that you can upload into your PSP, (emulators are sometimes referred to as a ‘homebrews’).

Once this emulator software is on your PSP, it causes your PSP games console to act as though it were an alternate games console, such as a Super Nintendo or a Sega Genesis.

Once you download PSP Emulator software and upload it onto your PSP, the emulator will allow you to play other gaming console games on your PSP. Also legally, there is nothing wrong with using a PSP emulator on your own PSP, as creating an emulator isn’t illegal.

SO HOW CAN YOU GO ABOUT FINDING AN EMULATOR FOR YOUR PSP GAMES CONSOLE?

Well, first of all, before you can begin to search for and download PSP emulator software, you need to check what firmware version your PSP games console has.

Did you know that you can find and download PSP emulator software within the next 5 minutes? As well as gain access to hundreds of PSP games, movies, music and tv show downloads?

PSP Accessories

#1 PSP Memory Cards

There is no doubt there is a ton of PSP memory cards available for the psp, but which one is the best and for the best value? The Sony PSP Memory Stick Duo 2.0GB is a quality memory stick with a decent amount of space to download free psp games, movies, music and themes, but the price of this memory stick is a little high and gamers can find more memory for the dollar on other brands. Usually this memory stick is priced out in the range of $45.00. Now the PSP Memory Pro Duo 2.0GB made by SANDISK can offer you the same memory amount as the Sony PSP Memory stick, the only difference is the price. The SANDISK memory stick can be had for around $39.00. Not much cheaper, but you are basically getting the same PSP memory stick for $6.00 less. Now if you are looking for a Memory Stick that has a little more memory, you can go with the PSP Memory Pro Duo 4.0GB also made by SANDISK. This is a great memory stick and with 4.0GB, it doubles the amount of psp games, movies, and themes you can download to a memory stick. This Memory stick will set you back about $70.00, but I think for the price it is the best choice if you download free games, movies, and music to your PSP.

PSP Accessories #2 PSP Cables and Adaptors

The second PSP Accessory that I recommend is the PSP USB link cable with media manager. If you like to download PSP games and movies, than this accessory is a must own. This helps you connect your PSP to the PC, which is what you need to do to download all the free psp games, movies, and themes. This Adaptor also will help you manage your media (movies and games). The CD to download the media manager is included. This great accessory is available for around $15.00, which is very cheap, especially with the media manager CD.
